From the North on 980: take 11th St. exit, but don't turn on 11th St. Go straight along frontage road about six blocks until street goes UNDER the freeway (880), then turn left. Stay in the left lane. After about five blocks, you will be able to veer left into the tunnel entrance. Signs will direct you to Alameda. As you exit the tunnel veer left immediately onto Constitution. Go about eight blocks (stay in the right lane to avoid the left turn onto Lincoln) to Central, turn left. Stay straight on Central (this will involve turning "left" to keep from being headed onto Encinal -- see detail map below); the church will be on your left-hand side. Left, left, left, left, left, left: got that?
If that seems too complicated, just go all the way to the High St. exit and follow the directions below.
From the South on 880: take the High St. exit, turn left on High St. Cross bridge into Alameda. Continue another 6 blocks to Central. Turn right. Go about 2 miles, past a flashing yellow where Central veers left. The church is about 3 blocks after that flashing yellow. This isn't really the fastest way, but it's the easiest if you're unfamiliar with Alameda.
From the North (or the City) on 880: Take 23rd exit, curve around, turn right, and cross bridge. Turn right on Central, go past flashing yellow to church.
From Central Oakland: Take Fruitvale until it crosses into Alameda. Turn left on Park, then right on Central; go about one mile to the church, about 3 blocks after the flashing yellow light.
via BART: take Concord or Richmond train to 12th St., then AC Transit #51 to Santa Clara & Morton, walk one block west to Central. We can also arrange for someone to pick you up at the BART station.
Carpools are arranged from SF, Palo Alto, Berkeley, and Pleasanton.
