We’re excited to welcome new singers to our choir family! If you’re interested in joining us for our upcoming December 2024 concert, here’s what you need to know.
On Monday, September 9, 2024, at 7:15 p.m., we’ll be holding our first rehearsal in Alameda, where there is ample street parking. This will be a wonderful opportunity for you to experience our warm, family-like atmosphere firsthand.
During this initial rehearsal, you’ll have the chance to sing with us and see how you feel within the group. If you enjoy the experience and would like to continue, we invite you to stay for a brief evaluation with our director. This evaluation will explore your vocal range and include some sight-reading. The process is designed to be comfortable and supportive, focusing primarily on listening to singers together to ensure a good blend among voices. Each new member will also sing solo, but there’s no need for special preparation. You’ll be given excerpts from the music for the upcoming concert to sing, and the ability to improve a musical phrase on the second or third try is more important to us than perfect sight-reading.
